a Taste of Chicago

This weekend while Jodi was away with here sister in Minn. MN, I was enjoying the Taste of Chicago with some friends.

We went up Friday morning and spent the morning finding our friend Anne's house. She was away for the weekend so we had a scavenger hunt locating the house, hidden keys and which door to open. We then relaxed and found the train into town.

Once at Grant park we bought tickets and started eating lots of food. We enjoyed laying in the grass and watch the boats, cars and people go by while we napped for an hour or so. Without much of an agenda, we got up when we felt like it and wondered around the park finding various street entertainers to watch. There were acrobats, magicians, psychics, robots, the Army, etc.

Adam suggested that we head up Michigan Ave to an art show, so we did that and then enjoyed wonderful Thai food. When sufficiently full, we walked back down to the park to watch/listen to a free orchestra concert in Millennium Park that was set to a silent film.

That night we all slept in lots of long cat hair. We had to rotate breathing thru different nostrils because it was so thick. I guess it kept me warm, because I slept very well.

So then on Saturday we went back to eat more food and pick someone up who was heading to Goshen for the hoedown at Blue Heron Farms. It was a great relaxing weekend. I love summer.

amen.
